Nucleoside research
Nucleosides and nucleotides form the core structural units of DNA and RNA, playing critical roles in essential biological processes such as replication, transcription, and translation. Their modifiable chemical frameworks continue to stimulate advancements in both medicinal and synthetic chemistry. Nucleoside analogs represent a major class of antiviral and anticancer agents, comprising nearly half of all approved antiviral drugs. NuBlocks’ chemistry research addresses the growing demand for chemically engineered nucleotides in mRNA-based vaccines and therapeutic platforms. Active projects include the creation of nucleotide analog libraries and the evaluation of various capping strategies. Ongoing efforts also focus on the development of novel synthetic methodologies for nucleoside triphosphates and phosphoramidites across a wide range of structural modifications. Our contracted research service guarantees you get the key molecule to push your work progress forward. Contact us today.
Oligonucleotide research
Oligonucleotides are short, synthetic strands of polymeric nucleic acids with broad utility in molecular biology, including applications as PCR primers, gene expression probes, antisense agents, and sequencing reagents. NuBlocks utilizes advanced DNA synthesizers to evaluate proprietary nucleoside phosphoramidites in oligonucleotide synthesis research. Current investigations include the development of novel functionalized solid supports, such as modified silicon-based substrates and engineered polymer resins, designed to enhance loading capacity and synthesis efficiency. Research also focuses on optimizing surface activation protocols and assessing linker stability across diverse synthesis environments. Ongoing efforts involve the design and synthesis of innovative universal linkers tailored for solid-phase DNA assembly. A new high-loading solid support platform for oligonucleotide synthesis is currently in final development stages and will be commercially available soon.
Expanding nucleoside frontiers
NuBlocks research and development strategy is driven by scientific rigor, customer satisfaction, and real-world chemistry application. We routinely: develop new synthetic routes, chemical studies of new modifications (sugar, phosphate, base, linker and label), investigate oligonucleotide solid supports and optimize nucleic acid purification. Engaging in a joint development project means you gain full access to our internal nucleoside library alongside a team of dedicated chemists.
